Sign-flipping couplings
Distinct from an ordinary threshold crossing: a single relationship whose effective sign changes as a direct consequence of crossing a threshold, same rule, no new force (logistic growth's carrying capacity; debt, expansionary below a capacity and corrosive above it, general shape credible, specific universal thresholds not). Worse than ordinary burnout, since the behavior doesn't change to announce the reversal.
