Concept
Emergence vs. luck
Chance is a fact about one instant; emergence is a fact about the shape many instants make together. A good Local Rule improves the distribution of outcomes across many attempts — it never guarantees the one you're currently on. The popular equation overclaims on both signs: the "=" should be probabilistic, and the "+" should be "×," since captured luck compounds future exposure rather than simply adding to it.
