Concept

The three returns — Brush, Tree, Forest

A third axis, alongside Scale (who is involved) and Speed (how fast it turns). Those two describe conditions; this one describes what has been built and is still standing. Brush returns within the day and holds the ground; Tree takes years and is what you were growing; Forest stands after many lives and contains what others planted. The interaction rule generates the rest: **a disturbance moves what shares its timescale** — a bad day cannot have damaged your tree, a bad season genuinely bends one, a bad era reshapes the forest. The waste is all in the mismatches. Weather/Climate/Terrain reads a situation handed to you; Brush/Tree/Forest tends work you are growing.
